Former Village Hall For Sale

The Village is selling the former Village Hall located at 106 N. Center Street.  The building is being sold as is.  The minimum bid is $25,000.00, with $1,000.00 in interest money due with all bids.   Interest money will be returned if your bids is not accepted.  Closing costs are the responsibility of the buyer.   The Village has the right to refuse any and all bids.   Bids with contingencies will not be considered. Bids are due Friday, February 10th at 5:00 p.m.  The inside square footage is 1,450 feet.    An open house will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon.




There are two pavilions available at Purdy Park to use for private functions.  You must reserve the pavilion ahead of time.  You can begin making reservations for 2017 on January 3, 2017.  There is a $50.00 deposit due when making the reservation.  You will get half of the deposit back if the pavilion is left in good order.  



Please remember that the yard waste site is for residential yard waste only.   People are using the area to dump electronics, appliances, and trash.  That is not what the area is for intended for, please only deposit yard waste!




The December tax bills were mailed out in mid December.   Please remember that you pay your tax bill at the Rock County Treasurer.  If you receive a check that is made out to the Village of Orfordville, you will need to bring it to the Village Hall.  We can stamp it so it is payable to the Rock County Treasurer.

You have options when making your tax payments.  You can pay by phone through GovTech at 1-855-912-7625, there is a$1.00 fee for paying by phone.  You can also mail your payment to Rock County Treasurer, P.O. Box 1508, Janesville, WI 53547-1508.   Please write your tax ID number on your check so your payment is property applied.   You can also pay in person at the Rock County Courthouse. The Treasurers Office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. 


Dog Licenses for 2017 are now available.  Altered dogs cost $3.00, unaltered dogs cost $8.00.  Please bring your vet information with you when you license your dog.  The information should show the date of vaccination, the rabies tag number, and the expiration date.   A $5.00 late fee will be assessed for licenses purchased after April 1, 2017.







    Winter ordinances are in effect.  Please remember to keep your sidewalks and the area around your fire hydrant clear of snow and ice.  There is no parking on Village Streets until after the streets are plowed in the event of a plowable snowfall.
