VILLAGE OF ORFORDVILLE

CALL TO ORDER

                President Gary Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.  Present were President Phillips, Tina Suiter Meyers, Chuck Boyce, Terry Gerber, Nikki Tuffree, and Jason Knox.   Also present were Attorney Michael Oellerich, Jason Nehls, Gustavo Guzman Rodriquez, Chief Brian Raupp, Karl Stuvengen, Nick Todd, and Clerk Sherri Waege.  Absent was Beth Schmidt.

AGENDA VERIFICATION

                Clerk Waege verified that on May 24, 2019, copies of the agenda were delivered to the President and Trustees; and posted at the Village Hall, Library, and the Farmers & Merchant’s Bank. There were no additions made to the agenda.

MINUTE APPROVAL

                Motion by Knox, seconded by Boyce to approve the May 13, 2019 Regular Board Meeting Minutes.   Motion carried.

CITIZENS WISHING TO BE HEARD

                None.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

                Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage Licenses for Gustavo Guzman Rodriquez.   Chief Raupp recommended approval based on the background check.  Motion by Gerber, seconded by Knox to grant a Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage License to Gustavo Guzman Rodriquez for Taqueria Guzman at 100 E. Spring Street to expire June 30, 2019.  Motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

                Additional Money owed to The Anderson Company for Tree Removal.  Clerk Waege explained that the bid for tree removal at 607 Colby Drive that was approved by the Village Board was $4,000.00.  Clerk Waege further explained that the Village was billed $4,200.00, of which only $4,000.00 was paid based on the approved bid.   Stuvengen explained that the bill was higher because the tree service had to work around the property owner’s vehicle which was left in the way.  Motion by Tuffree, seconded by Boyce to pay the additional $200.00 to The Anderson Company, and to add the $200.00 to the original bill of $4,000.00 to be charged to the homeowner.  Motion carried.

                Bobcat Attachments.  Nick Todd had bids for additional attachments for the Bobcat at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.   Todd explained that the grant will cover the attachments.  Motion by Gerber, seconded by Tuffree to purchase the three additional attachments as follows:  the rubber track for $4,817.70, pallet forks for $629.00, and the fork grapple for $3,178.00.  Motion carried.

                Vacant Land at the corner of E. Spring Street and N. Wright Street.  Discussion held on selling the vacant land, owned by the Village, on the corner of E. Spring Street and N. Wright Street to Jason Nehls to be used for parking.  Nehls was present and explained that he would like to use the land for parking and also to build a row of garages for his tenants.   Nehls further explained that the garages would not be used as storage units.    Discussion held on the strip of land that runs parallel to N. Wright Street that was not included in the lot that was separated.  Clerk Waege will check with Combs and Associates to see why that was not included.  Motion by Knox, seconded by Tuffree to sell the land with or without the five foot strip that runs parallel to N. Wright Street.  Motion carried.

 

 

 

VOUCHERS

                Motion by Knox, seconded by Gerber to approve the vouchers for $9,815.23.  Motion carried.
