All dogs in the Village of Orfordville are required to be licensed by April 1st.   Please bring your rabies information from your vet with you to the Village Hall when you come to purchase your license.  We need the rabies tag number and expiration date for the license.  Neutered or spayed dogs cost $3.00, unaltered dogs are $8.00.  There is a $5.00 late fee for licenses issued after April 1st.  



There are two pavilions available at Purdy Park to use for private functions.  You must reserve the pavilion ahead of time.  There is a $50.00 deposit due when making the reservation.  You will get half of the deposit back if the pavilion is left in good order.  You can begin making reservations for 2016 on Monday, January 4th.



PARKING-Please remember to keep your vehicles off the street until your street has been plowed.

SIDEWALKS-  Sidewalks have to be clear of snow and ice within 24 hours from when the snow ceases to accumulate.  

FIRE HYDRANTS- Remember to keep fire hydrants clear of snow.  This can save time in the event of an emergency.  If you have a neighbor that needs help with, give them a hand!

 MAILBOX DAMAGE-In the winter months, mailboxes can get damaged when plowing snow.  If a mailbox is hit by the plow, the village will replace the mailbox with a standard mailbox approved by the U.S. Postal Service.  Most often, mailboxes get damaged from the weight of snow when it is being plowed. The Village does not replace mailboxes in the event that they are damaged by flying snow.



The February Primary for Justice of the Supreme Court will be held on Tuesday, February 16, 2016.  Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.   Please contact Clerk Sherri Waege if you would like to vote via absentee ballot.   The last day to request an absentee ballot by mail is Thursday, February 11, 2016.  The last day to vote absentee in person is Friday, February 12, 2016.  You must be registered to vote to request an absentee ballot.

VOTER ID-  You will be required to show a photo ID beginning with the February Primary on February 16th.  Every voter is required to show a photo idea from this point forward.   You will not be able to vote without it.   




 Free tax preparation is being  offered to residents 50 years or older starting in February. If you are unable to afford tax preparation on your own, call for 608-328-9499 for an appointment.  Appointments are held at the Brodhead Public Library on Mondays.  Appointments are encouraged.  For more information call Joan Flood at 897-3882.    






Sather's Mobil


Sather's Mobil is located at 203 W. Brodhead Street in the Village.  Sather's Mobil is a full service gas station in a historic building at the corner of W. Brodhead Street and Highway 213.  Stop by for the excellent service that Kevin provides.  You can purchase gas, tires,  have your oil changed, and your small engines serviced.   Kevin also offers UHaul equipment and Storage Sheds to rent.   Call Kevin Wellnitz at 879-2960.
